The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Technical Service Providers (TSPs) are individuals or private entities that work with NRCS to provide technical expertise in conservation planning, design, implementation, and monitoring.

Their primary responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical assistance - TSPs provide technical expertise in conservation planning, design, implementation, and monitoring of approved conservation practices that meet NRCS standards.

  • Meeting Deliverables - NRCS provides Statements of Work that outline work products required by the conservation practices. TSPs use these statements to provide tailored services that meet the specific needs of the client.

  • Compliance - TSPs work with clients to ensure all approvals, rights, permits, and easements necessary for the implementation, operation, and maintenance of conservation practices have been obtained.

  • Responsibility - TSPs are responsible for the technical services they offer, including any claims, damages, liabilities, and costs arising from negligent or wrongful acts.

To become a TSP, individuals or entities must meet specific education, experience, and technical standards established by NRCS, obtain certification as a TSP, and agree to adhere to ethical principles and professional standards.
